Rosh Hashana @ VSHJ

The Victoria Society for Humanistic Judaism, a Community of Cultural Jews, will celebrate Rosh Hashana in a secular/humanistic way with services led by Ceremonial Leader, Sharon Kobrinsky and our resident musicians, Gary Cohen and Amber Woods (Kouskous; Jewish Music to Feed the Soul!) on Thursday, September 5th at 5:00 pm at the Jewish Community Centre of Victoria, 3636 Shelbourne St.

Please join our celebration of Rosh Hashanah with traditional readings and music. A wonderful potluck supper will follow. There is a $20.00 fee for non-members; reduced fee for students and low income people. Everyone is welcome.

Please RSVP to Sharon Kobrinsky at 250-474-7173 or or Freda Knott at 250-381-5120 or and let her know if you will be bringing a main course, salad or dessert.

Our Secular/Humanistic Rosh Hashanah Celebration always includes a Memorial to honor those who have passed away.  During this part of the ceremony, everyone is invited to publicly share the name of a family member or friend who remains special in their heart.  If anyone wishes me to share the name of a loved one (especially if you are unable to attend our celebration) please let me know in advance.  I can be reached at 250-474-7173 or
