VSHJ Program on October 20th

VSHJ Meeting Program for October

Date:  Sunday, October 20

Time:  2:00 pm

Place: Jewish Community Centre, 3636 Shelbourne St.

Topic:   Atheism 2.0   –  A  20 minute TED talk shown on the large screen.  What aspects of religion should atheists (respectfully) adopt? Alain de Botton suggests a “religion for atheists” — call it Atheism 2.0 — that incorporates religious forms and traditions to satisfy our human need for connection, ritual and transcendence.

Through his witty and literate books — and his new School of Life — Alain de Botton helps others find fulfillment in the everyday.

Discussion and refreshments to follow.
