VSHJ Plays Jewpardy on Sunday, January 5th at 1:00 pm

When: Sunday, January 5th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm
Where: Jewish Community Centre of Victoria, 3636 Shelbourne Street
Jewpardy is a fun Jewish spin-off from the television game show Jeopardy. Anton Friedman from the Peretz Centre for Secular Jewish Culture in Vancouver will facilitate the game. Also, Freda Knott and Mona Acker will give short reports on the J-West conference held recently in Portland.
A light buffet lunch will be provided. Everyone is welcome. Suggested donation of $10 for non-members. The event will start promptly at 1:00 pm.

VSHJ Program on Sunday, December 15th

Dr. Marion Blank will be giving a talk on “The Autism Epidemic: What Is Happening? What Can Be Done?”, followed by discussion.

Dr. Marion Blank is a developmental psychologist with a specialization in language (both spoken and written) and learning. She has developed literacy programs for children with learning disabilities including children with ASD (autistic spectrum disorder), who do not speak. She is currently a Lecturer in Psychiatry at Columbia University. In addition to producing various books, articles, tests and software programs, she also maintains a private practice and serves as a consultant to a wide range of school districts. Marion obtained her Ph.D. in Medical Psychology from the University of Cambridge in England.
