VSHJ Tu B’Shevat Celebration on Sunday, January 28th – Special Guest Speaker TJ Watt from Ancient Forest Alliance

Please join us as we celebrate Tu B’Shevat, also known as the “New Year for Trees” and now considered the ‘Jewish Arbor Day” or the “Jewish Earth Day”.

We will have a seder where we eat different types of fruits; with shells, with pits, edible inside and out, and we drink white and red fruit juices to reflect on our connection with the trees and the earth throughout the four seasons of the year.

After the seder, our guest speaker will be Environmental Activist, TJ Watt of the Ancient Forest Alliance. He will be giving us a 30 minute presentation on the struggle to protect ancient forests in British Columbia.  He will be presenting slides showing the magnificent trees.

Refreshments will be served. Everyone is welcome.

When: Sunday, January 28th from 3 pm – 5 pm
Where: Jewish Community Centre of Victoria, 3636 Shelbourne Street
